1. i am aware that as my partner has abandoned me the 8 week ruling should apply to me. Since i have been awarded income support on wednesday the mortgage dept should be getting hold of me soon. Think i will chase it up tomorrow.

2. i have surestart in the area i live. They have been helpful in giving advice on what i can claim. To be honest i knew most of it from my friends who were left in a similar situation.

3. they haven't arranged to see me yet. have been registered with them for 4 months. They do have outings for fathers

4. regarding the interest rate they pay the motgage at is it the same rate as the Bank of England?

good thing being at home is how strong your bond gets with the kids. took a while getting adjusted to not working for a while but have to realise that family comes first.

after hearing nothing from the mortgage dept at DWP i rang them up. I bought my house in 1990 and then changed lenders in 2000. Due to me changing in 2000 that is the date they will take into account therefore the 39 week rule will apply. Have told them my partner abadoned me. They will send me a questionaire to fill in.

Any one with experience with this?
