How can you see items as soon as they're listed?

When I look for bargains, I put the sort on "newly listed" , but it still only shows items a few hours old (at the moment for one item, it's about 9 hours behind!).

Is there any way of seeing items earlier?

When i sort my search by 'newly listed' items, i can see items that were submitted minutes earlier.
If I hit refresh a few mins later, i see even more newly submitted items.
I wonder if your viewing a particular category that has a slow new item submission rate.
