OK GingeG, but you have been warned :)

You have to open your ISA account with a broker, deposit the money and then use the account to buy shares.

Just one point; bear in mind that while an ISA shelters any gains from CGT, it also "shelters" the losses, which means that you cannot use them against non-ISA gains in the future.

I would *strongly* advise you to go over to the Motley Fool and look up the discussion boards for the shares you fancy.

I agree with everyone else you need to research first.

Saying that we just randomly picked our shares and we have only had one that bombed out big time and went from £1.50 a share to about 10p a share. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know.

Also when you do start to invest do not invest anymore than you can afford to loose.

    hi GingeG

Also give https://www.iii.co.uk a bash i have traded with them for quite a while, and they have always done me right. they charge a flat fee of £10 per trade and have a large amount of info about the shares. Motley fool is good as well and they always have a great deal of knowledge on companys.

Teletext on channel four is good for tips on which shares to buy, but while you are reading up on all of these things have a go at a fake portfolio so you get an understanding of how things work, most share dealing websites have these and are great fun.

Other than that hope the trades all go well for you and in your favour
