I have a strange heating problem. All upstairs radiators are working and half of downstairs are working. 5 are stone cold and are all at the back of the house. They have been flushed and there is sludge cleaner in the system which the plumber says could take some weeks to work through. I dont think it will work through and wonder if there could be something else wrong. The plumber is saying blockage in pipes somewhere.
They say we need to wait a few weeks to see if blockage clears and then if not its floorboard up time to see where it may be?
Anyone got any thoughts?
Boiler is working fine as are both of the pumps.

I am assuming all the obvious has been done. Like bleeding system.
Try turning off all radiators. Then turn on the one closes to boiler. Start the central heating.
This radiator should come on. If it does then repeat for other radiators.
If it does not. Have a containers and open air bleed valve. You should be able to deduce which pipe or valve has blockage. Most likely is TRV.
Best of Luck

Yes all been bled. There was a little heat to them before the flush and the plumber seems to think the flush may have made the blockage worse.
It is wierd that half of downstairs are all fine and half are cold.
Could they be zoned, I have read something like this.
There is no water circulating round them so it must be blocked somewhere. There is water in them but its cold.
A blockage does seem the most logical explanation but I dont see how it will clear if water not getting past it in the first place. The cleaner has been in over week now and so you would think if it was going to shift it , it would have by now. Thanks0
