Thanks Canucklehead. I have considered remehera as my plumber was raving about them but to be honest never heard of remehera and dont want to invest in one when there is no general consensus if they are any good? I suppose the 5 year warrantly counts in its favour tho....? For a typical 3 bed semi what size of boiler will I need to be looking at? Plumber recommnded remehera 36litre - other plumber recommends Baxi 105 I think0

Hi...try this SEDBUK boiler sizing calculator or do it via paper and pencil
Baxi 105:eek:
RGIs have their favourites...for some based on financial incentives from the manufacturer/supplier but , for others (eg.the OH), based on product training as well as experience with the installation, servicing and repair of the products.

Hi,Good evening, matimage: Installation in a bedroom should only be considered if there is no alternative location. Installation requirements are detailed in your boiler manual. The OH wouldn't install a boiler in a location in which it would be difficult for him (or any other RGI) to service or repair and wouldn't contravene manufacturer's specs.
Cost to move would vary and many RGis would be reluctant to get involved...see CORGI's advice to RGIs here
Which Vaillant do you have?

Its a Turbomax plus 824 (or 828) E
I have no idea why it was put in a bedroom. The house is quite big and there is plenty of room in the kitchen or airing cupboard (although this is in middle of house and would require some boxing in of the vent).
You say they wouldn't have put it in an inconvient place but the bottom of the boiler is less than 20cm from the floor! I find it incredibly annoying just changing the programming let alone operating on it.Sometimes you get what you deserve... :cool2:0 -
Just I thought I would renew this thread to see if Canukle can help
