Sorry BG website is having severe problems - it wants me to log in to view a page

If you use the UK Power comparison site it shows both the old prices and new prices. Perhaps your comparison was already based on the new prices?

The BG website is being re-designed(not before time) rather than having severe problems. I hope it is quicker than before - despite have a state of art PC and broadband it took ages to change pages. Also it was 'off air' for several hours every night while they update accounts.

Re savings your savings of £30 monthly over the BG 'fixed to April 30 2010' tariff. I think, for the benefit of other readers of this forum, that it should be pointed out that this saving applies to where you live(Scotland) and for your consumption.

For instance in my area (Midlands) the savings would be less than a half of yours for a similar useage.

As stated in other threads, people should not assume that the same level of savings are available across the country. They should check out the tariffs for their geographic area with all companies to calculate their savings on current tariffs.

Yes Cardew I am quite happy to confirm that these are the savings in my area(Scotland) as you and I have already discussed.

However I am sure that there are also many people who would be happy to save around £15pm too. ;)

What is definite is that people must check their actual useage and not their monthly payments.

To be fair, for all I know, some areas could have a greater percentage saving than Scotland; or a smaller percentage saving than the Midlands.
