hi,
probably a really easy question for people who know about computers, but i don't!!
i currently listen to stuff on my computer through the supplied stereo speakers, however i was given a mini hifi for christmas which is in the same room as the computer so i would like to be able to link the two together and listen to bbc 'listen again' through my hifi.
i have an audio in on the back of the hifi but not sure what connections i need on the computer, i assumed just phono ones but i can't see that i have those. my pc is a fujitsu siemens scaleo 600 and is about three years old.
please can someone advise what connections i need and whether there will be any settings that i will need to change on the pc itself
thanks for any help

Should just be mini-jacks. Green is the usual colour for lineout. If the aux-in on the hifi uses phono's then you'll need a phono to mini-jack lead.0

I have my computer connected to an amplifier. I use a 3.5mm stereo jack into the speaker output on the computer. The other end of the lead has audio plugs (left and right), which go into the amp. Something like this.......
The computer output will be a 3.5mm jack. Just check out what input you need for your strereo, and buy a lead to suit. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Yes you will need a 3.5mm jack to jack cable. This is very available - just make sure it's long enough, depending on the location of computer and hifi. Here are some additional lengths o the Amazon one:
