Pick the bones out of that
Dear Geordie_bear
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
With regard to the various products that you regularly purchase from our ASDA store, I can understand how disappointed you must have been to find they have risen so much in price. I would like to assure you that at ASDA, we are consistently striving to lower the cost of shopping for our customers. Initiatives like our "Rollback" programme have helped us to cut prices by over one billion pounds; in fact, we have been voted the best value supermarket by the Grocer magazine for eight consecutive years.
As I am sure you will appreciate, however, from time to time our prices will increase. When this happens, our Buying Team always monitors the situation closely and lowers them again as soon as we are able. I have passed your observations regarding the price of the products to our Trading Team here at ASDA House, who have confirmed this has been due to a supply cost increase which has had an impact across the market.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact me, although I am sorry that it has been necessary for you to do so. I hope my letter has gone some way to assuring you of our commitment to offer every day low prices and that we can continue to be of service to you at ASDA.
Kind Regards
ASDA

asda really *P* me off - their prices dont just get dearer by a few pennies, its like 30 or 40p overnight :O and like you its the same things i buy week in week out. the dried pasta went up from 40p odd to 79p and the pasta sauce has just gone up from 68p to 98p since i was last in there.
think im going to have to start shopping at tesco's as most of the stuff i buy is either about the same or cheaper plus you get the points0 -
Translation:
Yo Geordie,
1) So what? We're still the cheapest.
2) It ain't us; it's the markets, stupid.
3) Don'tcha go nowhere else!0 -
don't forget the suppliers of the supermarkets also put their prices up
also enrgy bills have also gone up so these supermarkets like asda and tesco have to compensate.
which is bad news from our point0 -
andrex moist toilet wipes went from £1.01 up to £1.68I like doing it daily :A0

Yeah I have found that the soya butter has shot up in price. It has gone from roughly 89p I think to about £1.20, not sure exact prices as I was too mad, I use this butter due to its lower fat content. Also the lactose free milk has gone up in price again.
This is why I dnt like ASDA they roll back on stupid items that you would never use and put the price up on decent produce. Also we are in the grip of a CC wnt say it as its grrrrrrr but what do we get on offer alcohol. It just does not make sense to me at all. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -
Their own 'mars' and 'twix' kind of chocs went from 99p each or 2 for £1.50 to over £1 each when the new VAT law came in!
They have been 2 for £1.50 for ages, but the minute the Govt drop the VAT they up the bl00min price! I wonder how many people don't notice the 'drop' in deals cos this wasn't the only one I noticed the other week.
They are quick to advertise the Rollback, but not so quick to tell you which products they added the Rollback reductions on to!
They must think we are daft!0 -
With the VAT thing is there George clothing included, I got some clothes today for my little girl and the price it said on the tag is the price I payed. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0

There isn't VAT on children's clothing so the change in rate wouldn't have made any difference.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
