Scottish Power Customer service

We are on a years fixed tariff with Scottish Power. Have just been emailed to advise that our DD is being increased which we do not agree with. Having tried to speak to a human being at the company for the past 4 days we are told that all customer services agents are busy handling other calls and are then cut off... Does anyone have a telephone number that has worked - we are trying 0845 270 6543 which is driving us mad.

I use a freephone number - I believe it is 0800 0270241.
Type "Scottish Power" into this:

Edit: This doesn't mean you won't be cut off, it appears if they are busy, they simply throw you off the line.0 -
make sure you stick to your guns. I called 0800400200 and stopped the increase.

Had the same problem in early November with Scottish power. First time I'd switched to a DD instead of paying quarterly.
Had switched to a one year fixed rate tariff and then got clobbered for a DD increase after two months and two days with them, even though I was told when we switched it would be fixed for six months before it was reviewed. But final paperwork received after the transfer had reduced this to three months before it was reviewed.
I lodged a complaint with customer services on 0800 400 200 as they had altered the DD before the 3 months had occured, let alone the 6 months! They told me they would get back in 5 working days. After 7 days I phoned them back and was told it is 10 days and complaints didn't know why CS keep telling people it's 5 days!
If you phone the 0800 number and follow the links to complain about the sale, you seem to get through without getting cut off and not having to pay for the call.
Keep on at them and tell them you are not happy and if they have switched it before the 3 months, complain that they are not even sticking to their paperwork. They have eventually told me that they will switch my DD back to the original starting amount, but I had to pay one month at the revised DD rate.
If the rates do fall enough with other companies in the new year, then we will get out of the DD and go back to paying quarterly.Val0 -
