Debate House Prices

In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. I wish I had my own house, but I've never earnt enough to raise a deposit.Than rather borrow money for a deposit I rent,in time I will have my own place, but instead of rushing in feet first I will bide my time.Life is full of surprises, and for the people that have lost their homes, dont give up.

We all have one life,so live it.

Having only joined in March 2008, you missed the opportunity to view some of those posting most vociferously here such as BACKFRMTHEEDGE, posting last year how prices would only ever rise, shortage of supply, miss the boat bla de bla de bla.

So whilst not all those who foresaw the bubble bursting may have been that precise in their forecasting, there were some really spectacular examples of people here who not only missed the finer details, but were actually convinced prices would continue rising ad infinitum, or at worst just stay level for a year or 2!

I think history makes clear whose predictions were more radically wrong. ;)

That's a lie - I never did and you can dig as much as you like and you won't find any posts like that. I care about people Carol - not stupid houses. It's my job to care about people, I don't give two hoots for house prices but I do care about jobs.

You may not ACTUALLY remember my posts but believe me I do remember plenty of yours and I hope you have a wonderful recession hun.

PS and I don't know why !!!!!!? and 1echidna are thanking this pile of Carp for either, just shows that the HPCers wil thank anything on this board - true or not

this is something that you should expect from the regulars if you disagree with their view.

i hope i'm not coming across in a patronising way but detect a bit of stress to your post - don't forget this is a forum and not the real world. there is no need to get upset about anything that is said on here. come on the board laugh at some of the posts, post your on view or opinions and try to enjoy it.

some say prices have dopped 50%, some say they haven't dropped at all. it's the way the forum works; many have very extreme views but there are some really good people on here.
  • What is all this baloney? People chose to buy instead of rent, so what i they drop 16%? mortgage will probably be less at this point unless they fixed the rate. I can't believe i am reading this tripe.

    It's CarolT remember...;)

Are you counting the ones who were calling it in 2002 :rotfl:

  • Couldn't care less what people said in the past.
As I said a few hours ago, this whol recession is still in fairy land for lots of people at the moment, it's a good sign that some of you guys are able to throw silly insults at each other!
I am happy while handbags are being swung, things won't be as funny in a couple of years time.

i knew that you foresaw it and also know that you have a party trick of feeding 5,000 people with 2 fish and 5 loaves of Hovis.

you're a great woman, probably one of the best
