Unauthorised transaction on Credit Card

I signed up to a 3 month subscription to a magazine at an exhibition - the offer was 3 issues for £3. In addition I was offered 2 dvds for £10 and from memory i think that they would only accept credit cards, so paid for these items by credit card. I had to complete a form for the 3 month magazine subscription, but was told not to fill in my credit card details as I would recieve a letter offering to extend the subscription after 3 months. I was assured that I would not automatically be subscribed for longer than 3 months as I did not need to put my credit card details on the form. I've now found that they've transferred the card details from the payment slip after I had completed the name and address details. Unfortunately, I also signed it as it said to do so to confirm that I'd recieved the first magazine, which was handed to me at the exhibition. The credit card company are not too interested as they say I gave my details to the company and the fact that they've charged my account without my authority makes it a retailer dispute, not fraud. What do you think?
The moral of the story is:
1. don't trust what anyone says.
2. If they say something, get proof and their name.
3. Cross out any blank details on forms so data cannot be entered.
4. Obtain a copy of anything you sign.
5. Be wise before the event and not after it
6. Anything else that someone may wish to add
