    if i was the insurance company i wouldnt pay out for those items as its common sense not to leave them in a car

    Might be worth checking the Household insurance to see if the laptop is covered.
    I pay £1 additional fee to cover my laptop being out of the house.

    some household insurances also cover cash up to a certain amount.

    not sure how you go about "proving" possession though.
