DEBIT Card Charges

I followed the Money Maximizer tool on here and purchased currency from "Currency Exchange" as it stated the best rate.

Alliance and Leicester charged me £19.41 for buying £1000 worth of USD with my Visa Debit card!!

They refuse to refund this, as they state it is clearly detailed in their terms and conditions - see below email.

Do you think this is fair?

Of course it's not - I could have withdrew the cash, for free, and avoided this charge.

It seems ridiculous!

Any assistance to get this back would be gratefully appreciated...

You won't get it back.

As you've said yourself, you could have withdrawn cash and taken the cash to the bureaux. But, you chose to use the method which is charged for.

It's all detailed in your accounts T&Cs. Learn from your mistake rather than worrying over £20 or so.

Also... I take it you missed the pretty clear warning on the Travel Money Maximiser page?

Just above the results it says:
