I am an Alliance & Leicester premier direct current account customer and am looking at taking advantage of the £50 recommend a friend offer.

As far as I can tell, there is no limit to the number of people you can recommend. Is this the case?

Also, the only requirement appears to be that £500 monthly income is set up within 8 weeks of opening the new account. There is nothing to say that the account needs to remain open after that. So, theoretically, the account owner could set up a standing order to this account for £500 in week 6 and close the account in week 9, once the £50 is credited to my and their accounts. Is this the case?

There is a huge long thread on the referrer's board about this already.

My personal view is that it would be smart to not only cash in on the referral bonus (many referrers are offering £40 of their £50) but to also exploit the 10% regular saver because it is an industry-leading offer. Plus, the A&L current account itself is a 'best buy' for its interest rates and lack of charges.
