FED cuts rate

in Debate House Prices & the Economy
Cut to 0.25%, wow bigger than expected, in fact they are saying cut to a range of 0 to 0.25%, not sure what they mean by that but they are calling it a 0.75% cut on Bloomberg

    is there any historical precedence for negative iinterest rates for savings?

    Not that I can think of. It's the lowest the Fed's rate has ever been, I believe.

    some would argue real rates are indeed negative: massive purchases recently of - I kid u not - Safes in the USA.

    Inflation being lower than interest rates is like having negative interest rates with no inflation.

    Savings Accounts need to be renamed to Losings Accounts to meet advertising standards.

    Soon, 0.01% interest on your current account will lead the best savings tables.
