Marks and Spencer delivery delay

On the 4 dec, on one off their 20% off days, I ordered about 3 peoples christmas gifts. Got a really good deal, with vat off, 20% off and 3 for 2 on christmas gifts. Well, now I have been informed that most off that order will not actually arrive until mid jan. January! some of these item were listed in the christmas gift section, and they will now not arrive for christmas! I couldn't belive it. I have now emailed them AGAIN, demanding to cancel the order, as it will be no good to me after the holidays. Cross my fingers and hope that they can get something right and cancel the order!

I had the same problem last year so didn't bother ordering stuff this year. It seems that M&S online don't have an up-to-date stock control system so you think you've placed the order but then they let you down afterwards. Under the Distance Selling Regs you are entitled to cancel your order for full refund so even if the goods do turn up, just let them know that you want to send them back.

Having said all that, you now have to get gifts from elsewhere with only days to spare so this must be inconvenient for you too, particularly as you ordered in good time for Christmas. So make a mental note not to order from M&S next year!

Thanks, they have now posted 1 out of my 8 or so items, so hopefully that will arrive on time. and hopefully they will bother reading the 2nd email I sent today, as they seem to have ignored the last one, and cancel the rest of the order. But yeah, it means i gotta get more gifts for people I had ticked of on my list! No M&S next year for sure!

What's the problem with picking up the phone and cancelling verbally?
