but the thing is i bought the car on the weekend, and bought my insurance online on the same night, but was unable to do the same with the tax. i did try to get the tax online, at also at the post office, twice, but they turned me down because i didnot have the orignal insurance documents on monday. i know its an offence to drive on roads without tax, if i didnt, i wudnt have tried to purchase the tax disc at all.
And? I had to wait a week because my stupid insurance company sent the letter confirming the changes but forgot to put the certificate in so I had to wait until that came.
End of the day, you cannot drive an untaxed car on the road. All your excuses are completely and utterly irrelevent.0 -
no i admit they would not have known at time of clamping that i had just bought it, but now in my appeal i can provide purchase receipts, dvla will also have log of change of ownership aswell. does all that mean nothing??
Correct. It means nothing. The vehicle at the time of clamping was not taxed and did not display a valid tax disc.
End of.
You can produce all the receipts you want but it doesn't alter the fact that what I posted above is true.0 -

To be honest OP I dont think you have a case to appeal, you should have arranged for somewhere to store the car until you had the correct documents in place0

How do you know they're foreign? Am I foreign? I'm posting with my name.
faikad could be a mickey take on "fake ad" for all we know.
Oh I see.....he may have an Arabic or Asian name so he's automatically "Johnny Foreigner" even though he may be 5th or 6th generation immigrant descendant or have converted to Islam and changed his name.
Haven't you got a BNP meeting to be going to?0 -
Failure to display a valid tax disc is a "strict liability" offence so no tax disc = offence even if the disc has fallen on the floor where it is obviously not being displayed.
and NCP of rip off parking fame are contractors who clamp on behalf of the DVLA0 -

i totally find this comment to be racist! I am as a matter of fact a young woman, from Asian background (and proud of it!!), just basically wanting some help and guidance, not Abuse!! I thought that was what these forums were for! I may be foreign due to my great grandparents but am British as are my kids. I thought this country was rid of racist people like you!0
