Hi
I have a simple tick list at work. I receive documents through the fax which are numbered. Spreadsheet is numbered 1 - 100 and I put a tick in it when it is received. What I would like to do is have the date appear by the side of it when it it is ticked. I put a formula in, but it changes to the present date each day.
Have tried and tried to work this out, and now my head is spinning.
Can anyone help please?
(ps I am not lazy, I know I could type the date in, but hey, if the technology is there to cut down on time, I want to use it

Press ctrl & semi colon together and that puts today's date into the cell - and it won't update when you next open the spreadsheet0
