The post office is offering a new issue of the GEB; based on the FTSE 100, 75% of any gains over three years, or 110% over five years, with the usual security that you will at the very least get back the amount you put in.
I've been waiting for the Post Office GEB for a while; now that it's here, I'd like to ask if anyone is aware of other GEBs available at the moment offering better deals.
Jim.

Assuming you are intent on having a GEB, then within that realm there are better percentages available. Maybe not right now, but they'll come along. I think there was a 5-year 150%-er recently, and I recall several 130%-ers.0

The guy i/c the Post Office used to be i/c National Savings where the % for 5 years was 125%. 125% was also the growth of the last Post Office GEB.
110%, if the gain is subject to income tax - as it was at National Savings - isn't worth it IMHO.
Link to some news about it - but not about the tax status of the GEB0 -
Thats an awful version.
These products are bad enough as it is but that has to be one of the worst yet.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I note that the minimum return of your original investment (slightly devalued, of course, due to inflation) is not common to all GEBs - does that count for much in assessing this?0
