Children's shoes - half sizes

Does anyone have any ideas where to buy reasonably priced kids shoes? I had my sons's feet measured at Brantano yesterday and he is a size 8.5. But they didn't have any that size! I usually go to Clarks but I can't afford the usual £25-£30 for a pair of shoes to last him a few months! Nowhere on the internet seems to sell…

Well, I know when I've been shoe shopping (oh joy oh happiness!) with the boys they have always pulled out the nearest size to what they've measured as if they haven't got the exact size, and jiggled around until they found something which fitted, often bearing NO relation to the size they measured at.

So I'm surprised they didn't pull out a load of size nines to see if any of them were OK.
