Just plug your isolation transformer into an existing 13A socket and try using your mixer to see if it works!
The isolation transformer is a safety device and the fuse in it's plug is there for protection.

I think that the warning is a bit OTT, as the poster is simply plugging in an isolation transformer which steps down the voltage to 110V.
Hello espresso
Please remember that there will be people reading this thread who have little or no electrical experience and Pink-winged is just trying to keep everyone safe by repeating the warning message posted on this board.
Kind Regards

let me get this straight, from the fused spur you have 1mm twin coming out of it, which goes down to a 13a socket below the worktop? for a hob!!!!! (or an ignition source for a cooker.)
the hob should be 2.5mm. so will you be using with the lights fuse spur or the hob fuse spur?
basically if its the hob spur then it will be in 2.5mm cable therefore it is fine to plug straight into the socket and it will still work, with no house fires.
but if it is the light spur that you are looking at, what rating is the fuse inside the spur (should be 5amp for a light). if its 13a then it will work but the 1mm cable will deteriorate and cause problems in the future. i.e house fires.
infact lighting should be in 1.5mm cable. (but for the sake of 0.5mm it can easily be mistaken)
basically it will work so long as its protected by at least 13a fuse, but in 1/1.5mm cable would not comply with the regulations.0 -

Er .... no. He actually said he had a 'spare' .. with a 1mm ... going nowhere.
But it's a bit academic as you've just resurrected a post that's 10 months old - so he's either solved it or burned the place down by now?;)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
i realised that now.
im looking to buy a new drill so i searched for 110v (see if there was a decent one on offer) and it brought this up. so i thought i could help out, by offering advice. just the advice is a tad late.0 -
Yep. Mind you the drill, with a paddle in it, might be handy if the US blender the OP had in mind didn't work out;)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
