HSBC Hardship Cases

I contacted HSBC using the template letter provided on this site and told them of my financial hardship due to the start of a lower paid job and also needing to take parental leave.

They wrote back really quickly and said that all reclaiming cases were on hold. They did not refer to the FSA's waiver for people in financial hardship, but instead gave me a leaflet called 'getting your finances in order' which is basically them trying to sell their loans. I rang them up for advice about a loan but they said it was likely that they would give me a consolidation loan to pay my overdraft and current loan with them

It's just left me a little confused and wondered if you could just give me some advice as to what I should do.

Many thanks
