Where can you download these clips & movies from?
It's pretty tough to help with your request - it's quite vague. It could be a problem with your PC, with Nero, with the DVD, with the files - if you let us know exactly what you mean by "it won't work" then we can probably help a bit more.0 -
You have to be a Sky+ customer with certain channel's.
Then sign up at http://www.sky.com/skycom/home/
And download films and sports clips onto your PC.
Nero says incompatible format, as I said they download as WMV formatsomething missing0 -
If you want to play it as a dvd (which I think you do) then you need to use Nero Vision Express instead of Nero Burning Rom. If you haven't got that then you have to convert the wmv to avi then encode it for dvd (e.g. by using Avi2DVD which is free). However I haven't come across any free software that will convert wmv to avi. Someone may know of some software that can create dvds directly from wmv format, but again I haven't come across any0

Windows Media has the ability to use DRM (Digital Rights Management) which will stop the file being copied or burn to DVD. Sky have almost certainly activated this.
There might be ways around it - I don't know. But it's probably not legal.0 -
http://www.dvdsanta.com/ , there's a free version ( assume it watermarks ) otherwise a bit costly for burning a few clips - not used it myself , so no idea if it works, and assume it does not get around the above mentioned "rights" issueAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

I have sky by broadband too but as far as i can tell you cannot burn it to a dvd permanently as the wmv download has a licence for 30 days. I.e you can put it on a dvd as a wmv and watch it on the computer that it was downloaded thru windows media player during that period (for those that have limited romm on HD)but not as a dvd thru a dvd player or on another computer. if you find a way around it tho, let me know.;)"Life? One of the best MPEG video encoders, convert to MPEG2 (SVCD, DVD) and MPEG1(VCD) with several settings and filters. Freeware MPEG1(VCD) encoding. Also basic joining, splitting, demultiplexing and multiplexing features. If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.0
