Hi guys
My m8 wants to produce a website and wants to host some photo's ideally thumbnails where you can click on each one and view the picture bigger.
I know some software automatically can batch these into an album (i.e. photoshop) but how quick and easy is it to then put it into your own style or own template without having to manually do it on each page?
Any suggestions?

You could use some sort of scripting language (unless there's a piece of software that'll generate all the html).
Something like PHP or .Net. If you do decide to use such languages you'll need hosting that can support them.
I for example have written a piece of .Net that goes into a photo folder, makes thumbnails of any new photos it finds, and also pulls off all the picture info (size, encoding, etc...) then puts it all on a page. So all I basically need to do is put my new photos in the folder and it does the rest."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Photoshop has a number of templates to generate different styles of sites, above and beyond that I'm not sure if it uses style sheets allowing you to make a simple change effecting all pages...
What Wolfmans suggesting is an automated system which cuts out the photoshop stage. There are apps out there that will do it for you. I understand gallery is pretty decent. These systems seriously cut down your work as once you've set up a template, it generates the pages (including pics \ thumbnails) as its needed. This also saves a lot of space....
Hope this helps...

Arghh, silly me.
Just noticed Picasa can generate this kind of thing.
Picasa is a free piece of software from Google for managing your photo albums. It's great, you can even tag photos (give them comments etc...) that it writes into the image (EXIF tags).
It has functionality to generate an html page with thumbnails."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
