im am so annoyed with woolworths its unbelivable
brought o fifa 2009 psp package for £125.99 after discount friday am
got home unpackaged to charge up only to find the actual console had been visably ised and damaged
took the whole package and receipt back to the same store friday pm
only to be told as we are in administration we have a sign saying can not refund oh she has not got one up here,
i said i do not want a refund just a replacement they did not have any in so i would have to phone sony and get them to replace and gave me sony and woolworths customer services number and said if i have any problems with sony to phone woolworths customer services
phoned sony today who said it was down to woolworths to replace the console and if they did not they could swap a refurbeshed one for a cost of £65:eek:
so i phoned woolworths customer services back and explained the whole thing and got told to phone stores and see if they have any in and get it swapped over great a....
phoned the same store i got it from and asked if they had any in store, yes we have so again i explianed the situiation and what i had just been told by customer services and gave the lady who i spoke to name she said one moment i will just check with th manager
came back and said no we can not do this to my reply i got a bit upset and said look i brought what i thought was a new psp and it has clearly been used you have passed me back and forth and its down to you to replace
she put me on hold again
then came back and said i have just spoken to tony one of the administrators who has said under no circimstances to refund or replace the console
what i would like to know is what to do next i have a used psp that cost me £125 there was no sign saying no refunds as we are in administration and i dont want a refund anyway just a replacement:o

They are trading. They have the usual responsibilities of a trader. Assert your rights. If they refuse, get them to confirm their refusal in writing. Contact Trading Standards.0

I wouldn't bother with woolies id get back onto sony and explain the problem and mention where you actually got it and as there in administration they have no more stock so they cant replace it!
If for some reason they come back with the same story ask to speak to a supervisor.
At the end of the day if its faulty it will no doubt end up back with them so what difference does it make if you send it or wollies?0 -

Woolies will be out of business in a few weeks by the time all that's going through they will be gone for good.0 -
The sign up in ours says no exchanges unless faulty, seems the member of staff has got it wrong, go back and speak to the manager, dont leave it too late.
If you paid on credit card they are jointly liable0 -

Ok, I found original thread!!
I have just recently (1 week ago) phoned sony and had my sons playstation 2 replaced, for free - I also had his psp replaced ( 8 months ago) for free and my sister has had her sons psp replaced last week, for free!!
I would not suggest telling sony the situation but explain that you have recently purchased a psp and it has gone faulty (for example - not playing discs, thats what I said) thye will ask if you have the reciept and you just say yes, they will ask the date of purchase and you tell them the date on reciept (should they ask for a copy to be faxed, say you have no access to a fax machine, this usually works, tho I was never asked) thye will ask for model numbers etc....... which you will find under the battery cover - they will also ask some other questions, such as name address etc, whether you have spoken to sony before, bla bla bla. They should then tell you that they will replace the console for free by courier and hopefully it will be next day delivery (both mine were, my sister opted for the previous day as she was busy the following day) They will explain that it is likely to be a refurbished model, but trust me, they are so well refurbished they look brand spanking new. All they ask is that you give the courier the faulty psp and something else, cant remember what but they will explain on the phone.
FYI - It will be provided without a box but as yours already have one then the box wont be a problem!
If you need more help or advice, please PM me!!0 -
