Question re xD memory cards

My housemate wants an memory card for her camera for her birthday. Her camera is an Olympus C370 so she needs an xD card, but the cheapest xD card I can find is made by Fuji (£12), as opposed to around £16 for one made by Olympus.

Is there a difference? Will any xD card work?! I can't ask her as she knows nothing about anything vaguely technical (I have to set up her computer, wireless, printer, speakers - everything for her!!)

This might seem like a silly Q but I don't want to buy the wrong card!!

The only reason to choose an Olympus brand memory card, is if you wish to make use of the Panorama facilty. (stitching several shots together to make a wide panoramic shot)

Expresso is right, there is different functionality on the xD cards marketed by Fuji and Olympus...

Olympus only allows panorama pictures on their cards...while Fuji camera owners can only protect their pictures on a Fuji xD card.

If I were you I'd stick with the same manufacturer as the camera...
