Did a chargeback earlier, now confused!

I bought a pushchair off ebay on the 14th of december paid straight away with buy it now. when the pushchair arrived the hood part was missing( i made a post about this at the time) Anyway I sent quite a few messages to the seller about this but the only ones I got back was automated ones saying they was closed for business until the 9th of january. Ive sent more messages since the 9th and still not heard anything back so tonight I thought it was time to do a chargeback through paypal.

So I put in a claim a couple of hours ago for items not as discribed/parts missing. Ive just logged onto my ebay and now the pushchair is showing as I still need to pay. Ive already received positive feedback from the seller saying - Very Fast Payment - Great eBayer - Thank You. Ive checked with my paypal account and the payment is still showing up as being sent on there and there is no sight of any refund. and the paypal resolution centre is still showing as waiting for sellers response.

I dont understand why its now showing in my ebay that i still need to send payment and was wondering if this is normal when a chargeback is filed?

Thanks.

Yes it is normal to show as unpaid as soon as a chargeback is done. It means that paypal have attempted to ringfence your payment so that it can be returned to you if you win the claim. At the moment the sellers paypal account will be frozen so he cannot access any funds he has in his account.

  • Thanks. I was getting worried. The seller as since sent me a invoice for me to pay again. They havent responded to the paypal claim but they have listed more baby items this morning. I take it I just ignore this new invoice seeing as Ive already paid and just wait now to see what happens?

Just ignore the new invoice and let the claim run its course.
