I was there last autumn, we got about 60 Baht to the pound, I hear it's dropped a bit since. Still very cheap IMHO compared to Europe and sooooo lovely too!

April is hot and it is dry as well. You will get some light relief or a drowning from the Songkran masses depending on your location at the time of it.
We go in April most years, and i have taken my son aged 10 months so its not totally unbearable.
All this talking of Thailand is making me impatient to book to go, must have will power and hold out for the price drops in the new year.
The baht could do alot between now and april so i would not worry too much. It still is going to be cheaper than going to Europe and much nicer!!!! Just my opinion. If you are going for a month, why not head in to one of the neighbouring countries?
