I got an oregon scientific 'Stark design' weather station with clock radio (The 'Music Medium') for £30 from TKMaxx just before Christmas. They used to be £100+ in the gadget shops so you might like to have a hunt. It is great, but the humidity readings are a little inaccurate (we have two)

Thanks - I'll pop into TKMaxx at lunchtime today and see if there's any left.
Not sure I like the radio-alarm clock styling.... but I can have a look. I want to mount it on the wall in the kitchen or perhaps the hall, so perhaps this is not the right one for me.

I think it's still the £50 all-singing (if not quite all-dancing) ones I'm after... damn I have expensive tastes! The Maplin one seems to have added features like snowfall and storm warnings (I wonder how useful these would be in real life?), while the Oregon one is nicer to look at! Maybe I should just resign myself to paying 50 quid.

    The hunt continues...
Thanks to everyone for all the help so far.
Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.
