I wanna weather station

It's for the wife's birthday... she's always looking at weather forecasts and stuff, so think she'll get some use from it.

Started looking into it, but there's loads on the market (thought this was going to be easy!), not sure which one to go for.
Should have:
-A remote wireless thermometer for measuring outdoor temperature.
-Humidity and pressure readings would be good too.
-Wind speed good but might be getting a bit OTT!
-Some kind of basic weather prediction i.e. cloudy, rainy, stormy, snowy etc etc
-Wall mountable.

I all this achievable for around £50?
Happy to compromise on features, but can't stretch to more than £50!!!

Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice!!!
Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.

Sure, you can get all that for about £20 if you don't want the wind guage. Aldi had one for £17 a few weeks back.

Try http://www.tchibo.co.uk - they do a catolgue. At Christmas I bought 4 of these devices and what I got was a remote external thermometer and a thermometer for inside. The thermometer in the house displays the outside temperature and has a 25m range. Also, it is wall mountable and displays the time and date. This is set by radio control so you never need actually set the clock as it does it itself.

VERY impressed as everyone who got one as a gift at Christmas was. I think I paid about £12 - it is decent quality and does not look like £12 worth. Comes with 3 year guarantee.

    Hi

This is not what I was on about - but they do this "Outdoor Weather Station" - comes with three displays that tell you the temperature, air pressure and humidity -

    Wow! Fast responses!
Thanks for that... I don't know of an Aldi anywhere near me, but will have a look to see where my nearest one is.
Will have a look at Tchibo as well - thanks!

Was thinking of maybe something like this:

    Hi

The tchibo one tells you - min and max temperatures, whether, the temperature is stable, going up or falling. It is good as a reference, but I suppose if you want all the functions, barametric pressure etc then I think a more professional kit is better. The one you showed looks good.

    Cheers

It has the extra air quality functions, but it seems a little overpriced to me.

The Tchibo looks nice, but isn't quite what I'm after...

Thanks for your post Lorian... yep at £50 it's a bit pricey...
Theres also this one for much the same money:

Any suggestions where I can get much the same spec for lower cost?

    Thanks

Just been looking on Ebay in fact...!

Definitely a possibility, but there's tons on there... certainly seems to be a buyers market - must be all those unwanted Christmas pressies! Are there any particular makes which are a bit better than others?

The oregon scientific ones usually look nice, but command a premium.

Lots seem to not have a histogram graph of air pressure which I find quiet usefull to see "whats happening".

Looking at the prices for what you get though it might be worth posting a thread to see if anyones local ALDI still has them in stock by a small chance and might post one to you. Mine doesn't have any I'm afraid.

Froogle.google.co.uk will list loads of them if you search for "weather station"
