Executive Airport Lounges. Are they worth it?

I have a long wait at Heathrow next week before a long haul flight and wondered if anyone can advise whether it is worth paying to use the business class lounges or indeed, if it is possible to do so if you are travelling economy. Any suggestions and advice would be much appreciated

You cannot pay to use the BA lounges at Heathrow.
But you can pay to use the Serviceair Lounge - the cost is about £18.00 - for this you get comfy seating, free coffee, alcohol and snacks, space and peace. So if your wait is lengthy it might be worth the cost.

I use quite a few lounges on business trips. It's an OK perk if it's free but there's no way I'd spend my own money on them.

I would only pay for one if I had a long connection. If you work out the cost per hour it's much better value if you're stuck in a foreign airport for four hours. Frankfurt is a good example as it's a hub for Lufthansa...

Well worth the cost - as you save a bit of coffees. snacks and any alchole. Also internet access, showers and peace and quiet. If I've a long wait I'd always use one.

The service and standard of these vary according to airline and airport. BA are generally quite good, but some of their partner airlines less so.

As stated above, its a nice perk but I wouldn't pay unless I had a long wait.

I have used Air France VIP lounge on several ocassions. It was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Not actually used my own money though so it would depend on the length of your wait.
