WH Smith (online) rant

Has anyone else experienced any problems when ordering from WH Smith online recently?

I ordered a book a few weeks ago and the delivery was very speedy, in fact I received the book before I even received the email telling me that it had been despatched.

Due to above quick service, I ordered a DVD on 30/11 as it was the cheapest I could find using a discount code and quidco. Since then my order has been "In Process". I have emailed them twice, no reply, I have been on hold on the telephone 3 times for more than 15 minutes and given up. I finally sent an email yesterday to cancel the order and to express my disappointment with the service received.

Has anyone else had any problems recently?

Also, does anyone know, if they do end up sending the order, can I take it back to store for a refund as I will not be pleased if I have to pay to send it back!

Same happened to me first delivery great second delivery no show. i emailed last week and they emailed me back saying my ordered was cancelled due to the supplier going into administration and i would be refunded, have not been refunded yet but i presume it will take a few days.

there was a notice on the wh smith page the other day about them having problems obtaining items like dvds cds etc. it apologised for the suply problems and i think ( if i remember right) that they had cancelled them.i hope you get your refund soon.

It's all tied up with Woolies going into administration - since they supply WHS with DVDs etc. Basically, I think the problem is beyond WHS's control (basically as I understand it, since the administrators went in nothing much in the way of goods have come out) and although WHS haven't been very good at keeping people informed, I don't think they know what is happening. My order made on 24/11 and 'despatched' on 26/11 has now been cancelled.

Anyone a betting kind of person? I'm off to William Hill's, not sure if I should put money all my money on Zavvi or WH Smiths going under.
