Combi doesn't fire fast enough

Afternoon,

I'm having an irritating problem where my Combi isn't firing up for lowish flow requests for hot water, but only from the shower.

I can turn the kitchen hot tap on only slightly, and get scolding water pretty quick. Same with the bathroom tap.

However, if I only put the shower on slightly, the boiler won't fire and only cold water will come through. I have a turn the shower up pretty high to get the boiler to fire up, by which time the flow rate of the shower water is too fast for the boiler to heat up sufficiently, resulting in cold/luke warm showers.

There's a mixer valve in the shower, which is fully set up for maximum temperature, as far as I know.

Any thoughts welcome!

Have you managed to find a good RGI yet?;)

    Thanks for the links.
I did have an inkling that it was going to be the mixer.
When I installed it, I remember setting the mixer to maximum temperature, and even putting the provided constrictor in the cold supply. We knew the boiler wasn't really good enough to begin with.

As for my search, I have a list of people to phone but am waiting till after the Christmas season!

    Cheers
