Does anyone know of a decent bit of free software that will rip CD audio tracks to MP3? Been looking around on download.com but can't find a free one!

My OH uses freerip, not sure where he got it from though... maybe a google search might bring it up?!

This question comes up quite a lot, so there must be something wrong with the ripper built into Windows Media Player. Would someone spill the beans and tell me what?

My favourite, and it's free, is without a doubt Exact Audio Copy
You'll need LAME to go with it, details on the site.0 -
Yep, EAC and LAME will give the best and most accurate rips. Great software.

thats what i thought as well, but you can change the output file type
which works fine, my daughters put mp3's onto their mp3 players using windows media playersmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....:cool:
