paypal and verification help

Hi all,
set up ebay and paypal no probs.
trying to sort out the verification with paypal - nightmare!
done the first 2 steps no problems, but when it came to a phone call and press such and such button it didn't work, so then it informed me i would get a 6 digit code through the post within 2 weeks
that was 4 weeks ago and still nothing, emailed paypal and they said they will get another sent out but it comes from nebraska!! and will take another 3 weeks.
problem is they have now blocked my account and i can only have payments in and can not take any thing out so my hard work for the last couple of weeks has been a waste as i needed to take money out to pay a couple of things off,
has anyone had to wait just as long?? it really is pathetic just curious really if others are waiting etc
