Well it was alright, not exactly as rock n roll as i planned but it was fun....

we ended up going to bingo in Aberdeen, (which is exciting for me as i'm use to cottage bingo in nearby village). The weather was torrential rain and stormy as hell so my friend drove and i only had a couple of glasses of not very drinkable wine... too many to drive but not enough to get drunk IYKWIM....

then after the bingo my chum suggested we go someplace i'd never been before, so we went to the Casino! Wow it was amazing... i bought £10 of chips and won £40 on the roulette table, which paid for my night, although i gave friend something for petrol etc, and i bought bag of chips on way home, still all in all a cheap night!

not the drinking, dancing glamourous night i had in mind, wet, windy and gambling instead!!

My friend has a problem with gambling and had i known we were going there then i would have said no, but she was driving and i had no idea until we were going in... (gullible, moi?!) but she didn't have much money and spent what she had on her in some bandits within 10 minutes...

i like a flutter but i was happy to spent my tenner and walk away from roulette table with my winnings... something she said she'd have never been able to do...

  • Pania - sorry to hear you're not feeling great today... you're normally so upbeat... hope it's just a wee phase and you'll get back on top form soon... would it help to vent/talk about it on here?

Sally -Honey, how are you doing? i saw you were feeling a bit meh too...?

I can't get motivated to do anything today! Got a stinking cold! I'm off work til boxing day and have a list as long as your arm of things I have to do that I have been putting off til this week - but all I want to do is sit here and snuggle under a blanket with a lemsip! waiting for solicitor to phone about the completion date for the new mortgage - so my finances are up in the air as I don't know how much the costs etc will be or when my new payment will be due! At court tomorrow as a witness on ex's harassment case! Not looking forward to it at all! Maybe I'll feel better when that's over!

glad you had a good night all the same, and paid for with winnings, even better! Does your friend realise she has a gambling problem or is she still in denial?? So hard for you to have to go along knowing about her addiction.

Ah im ok, PMT, run up to christmas, feeling meh but hey there are people worse off than me I know. I just need a kick up the backside every now and then. Actually I think I am coming down with the DFW bug, head feels like its full of cotton wool

DH just text me to say that he has a £75 food voucher from work as their christmas bonus. Actually they weren't going to get one as boss was putting money away so they will get their annual bonus in Jan but looks like they were feeling generous after all. Pays for food over christmas anyway so thats good!

she is very open about her problem and the extent of it, it was okay at the bingo as i just kept her talking and away from the machines, which are her downfall.... but the casino thing was a curve ball, and i knew she didn't have it to spend... albeit she wasted what she had...

Great news about Food shopping bonus!
