Frankly, I'd rather have !!!!!!'s old tin hat cos I could sell it on ebay.

If !!!!!!'s right then tin hats will be worth a lot of money in a couple of years.

Can melt it down into a couple of tin cans and then put food from my future garden in and sell em to starving bankers.

To wander briefly back towards on-topic. A friend has mentioned that the EAs who use Rightmove tend towards higher asking prices. Any merit in that?

I think almost all EAs use Rightmove these days. They claim 90% of the market. As they are a listed company they must believe that claim can stand up to some sort of scrutiny.

Also, Rightmove talks about the 'Initial' asking prices, not all asking prices:
Initial asking prices now more than 10% (£24,692) below May peak

So the actual prices of the houses that are on the market 6+ months already and dropping the prices are not included. (Or increasing them - I witnessed 25% jump in one particular house asking price)
    Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb

    Well spotted.
