I am coming from East Lothian, so I think going to The Gyle, to get a bus to Edinburgh Park would be a tad silly, when I can get a bus from the town centre straight to Edinburgh Park.

So what's not silly about getting a bus to a point half a mile away when you are going to have to walk through the very station others have mentioned? And next time - tell us what you already know, we aren't ruddy mind readers

She did point out the only thing she wasn't sure of was where to get off so just quit it! Absolutely no need for all the hostility on this website sometimes. And trust me, Edinburgh Park is very much an industrial estate, I had to walk around it completely lost not so long ago.

You can get the 24 from town anyway, but they are every 30 minutes and not very reliable so the 22 is probably the best one even if it is more of a walk.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

What IS silly about it, is you say I should get off at The Gyle the nget another bus from The Gyle to Edinburgh Park!

The 22 and the 24 both go to The Gyle THEN go to Edinburgh Park. ;)

Anyway, I got the 24 there and got the 22 back. So now I know where both are if I ever need to go out there on the bus again.

    Hi

I work in one of the buildings just near the Novotel you speak of. If you get off the 22 bus when you're just next to the Aegon building (ie: before it turns the corner to Drumsheugh) then walk directly over the roundabout and keep walking. You'll walk past a large grassy field and you'll see the Novotel in the distance. You'll need to head for the train station and use the undercover walkway to get to the other side. Then you'll be 1 minutes walk from the hotel.

The 22 is the best as it is most regular and you can take it all the way from Ocean Terminal.

    Best of luck!

Thanks for that. I just missed your post earlier, but I managed to get there in time, and the interview went well as far as I could tell. :D

    Thank ee kindly. :D
  • Sorry I missed this too as you could have got a bus to Sighthill and walked down past the Royal Mail and through Hermiston Gait but glad to hear you got there and hope it proves successful.
  • For future reference you can look at the mybustracker website; http://www.mybustracker.co.uk/index.php

You can put the street or postcode in to see where the bus stop is on google maps as well as being able to see when the next few buses leaves from any stop.

  • Glad you got there ok elkay and hope you hear soon, fingers crossed for you

Fingers crossed for you and a positive result! (I can well understand wanting to have one less worry on an interview day!)

Can appreciate, being from East Lothian myself, how confusing public transport in the Toon is unless one uses it regularly...sometimes wonder if it's Warner Brothers in charge of Edinburgh's transport...:D
