Aye, that's a well known cure for the flu is the hot toddy! And clearly confirmed by the fact the priest has been in for one too!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Am double cross as kids decided they needed gift for dad's gf so I had to 'donate' stuff I have received from school. If the situation were reversed he would do s*d all tbh. But I am a better person than that and I did not need a box of heroes and a jotter pad thing anyway (already have 2) - just hacked off because I get scant respect from them all (and child support of £50 per week!) Well atleast I get something.
Deep breaths and chant 'I am a better person.' I've been doing it all week. Its that or smack my ex and his wife in the chops and create merry hell and upset DD even more than she is due to her thoughtless father and his wife. :mad:0 -

Thanks SSL I do and I sent them a xmas card. I bear no malice. No third party was involved in our break up (but he thought there was for a while hence the break up) and I would rather he had some woman keeping him happy IYSWIM because they are far less grouchy when their basic needs are being met...
He used to give the kids a card with a £20 note in and write in the card 'I hope you get lots of presents' - he was told, by me, in NO uncertain terms NOT to write that if he wasn't going out BUYING any gifts. He isn't seeing them any extra AFAIK just sat (suits me TBH) and DS has come home tonight with a card no sign, at all, af any sort of wrapped gift. Apparently he has something for them at his...
My parents divorced and I can remember being bought clothes one xmas (I was about 14 and divorce was not common when I was a kid) and they did not fit. They were taken away to be replaced with appropriately sized clothes...I'm still waiting!
No wonder I ended up not speaking to my dad for years.... one of very many incidents BUT it wasn''t until he treated my own kids differently from each other (he was a dinosaur who thought boys more important than girls) when I FINALLY cut him out from my life. So the grandson he was so proud of never knew him. Funnily enough he already had a grandson he didn't bother about but I was the eldest daughter and had been a real daddy's girl growing up.. He was a philanderer anyway - he met his 'new ' wife while still married to my mum - why would I want my kids to know him when I have my lovely dad (stepdad) DD dotes on him and quite right too...those who love us and who we love are far more important - and deserving sometimes than our 'blood' relatives.
I told my 'dad' about two/three years ago how much he meant - and means - to me. I wasn't the most amenable of stepdaughters - for many reasons BUT he has been loving and patient and kind and does jobs for us all now. And he has his own natural daughters he has never given up on despite many difficulties thrown in his way. But we never feel 'second best - I love to see his face when my DD runs into his arms. He is godfather to two of his 'grandchildren' - and he hasn't had the easiest of lives himself.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

That's it. I've stayed awake as long as I can even though I wanted to go to my bed at 5pm this evening.
Hopefully, now, I will sleep the sleep of the almost righteous and the almost good.
See y'all sometime in the morning.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
