How to create an Under-Stair Cupboard?

I'm thinking about creating a cupboard under my dog legged stair case to store bits and bobs. The side is currently fully closed by plasterboard.
Has anybody got any tips/advice/links to instructional sites on how one would tackle this?
Thanks

Need to check out if it's structurally possible first but if it is -

Second photos, image on right is very simple to do (got the instructions somewhere) but for real impact -

Wow! super photo's , but the cost!!!
Also OP should first think What is going to be stored !
I'm thinking , Junk! might start off with good intentions but in time:rolleyes:
If I was creating an enclosed 'cupboard' with perhaps a odd shaped door or one of an odd size. Would think about the door first, and build around the door. Just a thought.0 -
I like the idea of the drawer systems the best. We currently have an odd little cupboard under our stairs (used for storing tools, paint, etc. as we don't have a shed) but it is really awkward to use. A series of drawers along the wall would be so much better!0

I hope I've understood you correctly, if not, I apologise. The section I was looking to tranform is all hollow when I tap around it.Wow! super photo's , but the cost!!!

Wallbash - I am under no illusion... junk it is.
Suzy M - You've certainlly opened my eyes and got the creative juices flowing, hadn't thought of drawers. Thanks for the links also!
I suppose its off the the drawing board and to get the permission slip signed by the Mrs.0 -
Well I know it's a bit of a lazy solution, but a lot cheaper and quicker - make a "curtain" to cover the area and you've got a perfect place to store junk and hide it all away. I was considering doing this as it would be a lot easier for me than building cupboard doors. Thinking of using velcro or hooks and eyes to fasten the fabric in place, otherwise if you used a curtain rail gravity would just take over!0
