DLA nightmare

We are having a right nightmare with DLA. My husband has been awarded high care low mobility last year and all was fine. However, at the end of Spetmber he has started tretament as an outpatient on a day basis release. He would go in the night before treatment and was released on the afternoon of the treatment day. This would happen twice a week. All in all, he had 14 non-consecutive overnight stays. I called DWP to check how this is treated and they reassured me it is less than 28 days and it is not even hospital stay, so all is fine. All our benefits countinued fine, but DLA stopped in November. After calling them, they said they will need to check with hospital that this is true and that this can take up to 6 weeks!!!! Anyway, I went straight on the phone to hospital and the head nurse took all the details, called them up and faxed the papers over (this was on November 26).
Still nothing.... And on Friday, when our beenfits adviser called them, they said that all is fine and that they have all the information which look in order, however they are really busy and it can take weeks before someone tick the box to unsuspend the payment!!!!!
I think it is ridicilous. They do not need to re-evaluate, my DH is still entitled. All it takes is a press of the button, yet it takes them weeks to do it! My carer's allowance, however, is going through fine.
No question, really, just feels good to vent. It has been 8 weeks since last DLA payment.

DLA can be one of the slowest benefits to pay out when you apply or amend your claim. Probably because they need so many reports and need to contact so many people.0

I know how you feel.My husbands DLA was stopped 2 months ago because they decided he didn't need the help anymore (nothing has changed regarding his disability) After lodging an appeal we have been told it could take 11 weeks to go through as it is treated asd a new claim!!??!!
We have just recieved copies of the docs report and his GP one has been filled in and signed by a doctor at his surgery who has never seen him for his disability!!
It makes me sooooo mad.0 -
minigirl, did they contact you in any way beforehand or did it just stop dead ? Feel free to PM if that's better. This is worrying..0

Nope just got a letter to say that they had recieved the form we had filled in (we hadnt filled one in) and after writing to docs they had decided to stop DLA completely. Hubby was on high rate care and low rate mobility0

DLA should let you state who you'd prefer them to contact, your GP or the doc at the hospital as many probably are under hospital treatment for there problems therefore don't go to the GP so they could be getting false reports off that doc because they don't see them. Could you have a copy of the reports that were sent to see what's gone wrong?O0

We did state on the application form to contact specialist but they have contacted both. Have got copies and cant see anything wrong. Specilist report even states that he is on more medication now and that he cant give prognosis if condition will get better as he doesnt know0
