How should we approach this?

Hello,

Me and a friend are in need of an extra bank account, we each have personal accounts at separate banks however this requires a new account. We've decided to go with a new account just in one persons name, as this will be less hassle. Are we able to go to a bank that he is already a "member" of, or can we only have 1 account at 1 bank? (Neither of us are in debt or anything silly like that, we just need to keep the funds separate)

Edit: I forgot to add, I am 17 and my friend is 16.

You can have as many accounts as you need. I'm sure there's a limit somewhere, but you're not likely to reach it.

Bear in mind, however, that if only one of you opens this account, the other will have no say in it whatsoever - so they could take the money and run.
