Hi guys looking at getting website will need shopping cart and merchant services.
Not confident at doing myself i know theres jummla, oscommerce etc.
I have posted it on guru and scriptlance where people bid to get the work however all my offers are from india etc and feel i would rather use uk company as majority that are replying have no real experience and a few that gave me portfolio sites i found out they were not there work...
Anyone know a good programmer etc out there.

I got good results from Getafreelancer some years ago to get mods done on our online shop. Then more recently I went back to GAF with very unsatisfactory results so you are right to be skeptical. Basically the feedback systems on Rentacoder and GAF have been hjacked and the sites do not want to fix them.
If you are keen to source in the UK then use a standard package like Oscommerce or Cubecart and get your subcontractor to handle configuration and styling.0 -
