replacing sheds?

Not sure if any one will be able to help on this matter, but what is DE policy on replacing sheds and what do they class as servicable. Do they have to be practically on there last legs? my problem is my shed roof looks like its about to fall in, it leans, it leaks as it has holes (i know this is expected in wood), the wood is always soaked through on all sides and the floor (i also live in a flood prone area so its emerged in water a fair bit and has flooded the whole shed a good 6 inches on a few occations). Are the obliged to provide a new shed and higher it so it doesnt flood or will i be told a big fat no as they say its still standing so therefore servicable.
thanks

I would check to see if the shed is covered by them, and not something left by the previous tenants.
If it was left, which it probably was then it would be down to yourself to repair/replace the roof, or even the shed itself.
Contact DHE about the shed, see if they cover it.
Though, probably not.

no the shed wasnt the previous occupants as the whole estate has them, varying from new to old, wood to plastic. So they have ob been replaced at some point.0

Lol, your shed sounds like our 'garage' and we pay extra for it. From experience of trying to get a previous leaking, rotten garage sorted it was a case of it's 'OK unless it's falling down', we got nowhere but the door was replaced when it fell off :rotfl:
It will also depend if your shed is on the house inventory. In our last quarter the shed disappeared between our friends moving out and us moving in. Other houses had sheds but it seems DE hadn't written this down anywhere. As the shed wasn't on the house inventory DE did nothing to follow it up with the contractors (who were seen removing it, a garden bench and the plant pots we'd been left) and the shed was never replaced.
We haven't a shed in this house, only one half of the estate does. I'm guessing unless it is specifically listed on the house inventory, they could remove the shed but not replace it. Worth asking0 -
I've had my shed roof re-felted about 18 months ago. Just phone up MHS and report it as a fault and it will get repaired.0

You may meet some resistance, depending how much budget is left. last year sheds, carpets and fences were 'deferred' to the new fiscal year. Occupants were encouraged to call back in the spring/summer!!
Unless there is a health and safety issue????Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

You are probably right. Wrong time of the financial year .0 -

I spent many years in the Forces and I know what you mean about wrong time of fiancial year.
Perhaps you could ask them to defer part of your rent as its the wrong time of financial year for you!
Just watching pig flying past my window!I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0
