Moo2Moo - I am so with you there I have read the gambling board so many times and I "think" I get it and then when I try to actually go and make a dummy bet it all gets too confusing lolProud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

I keep reading the matched betting guides for beginners but they make my head swim. If someone figures it out could they post an idiot proof explanation as I just don't get it. OK well not quite true, I get some of it. The most straightforward way I can think of it is a football match. There are only 3 possible outcomes. Team A wins, team B wins or they draw. But then what?
Betfair for example is offering :
Chelsea 1.25, West Ham 18.5, Draw 6.4
William Hill has the same game but a different format:
Chelsea 1/4, West Ham 14/1, Draw 4/1
I'm assuming that this would be a bad game to bet on because the odds of one team losing and the other winning are so different. But then again I could be very very wrong. Any suggestions anyone?
moo2moo any match can be good to bet on depending on the odds at the bookies compred to the odds at the exchange.
Basically you bet on team A to win at the bookies (ie will hill) and bet on team A to lose at the exchange (ie betfair)
The spreadsheet on the gambling thread is good to use to see how much you will make or lose from the bets0 -
hi,can i join this challenge too please.£27.76/£2018 in 20180

It doesn't matter who wins/loses/draw - it hasn't clicked yet, keep reading.
Oh and fractions to decimals is easy - divided the first number by the second then add one, so Chelsea at Will Hill would be 1 divided by 4 add 1 so 1.25
A very good match as your bookie and exchange (Betfair) are the same figure. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

hiya,
this sounds like my cup of tea, great challenge! can you count me in?
im not keen on betting but ive 2 things i would put my £10 on:
£10 entrance fee for the local car boot sale next year (i think its usually around £10 or less for a car), it will be the first time ive ever done one & ive got plenty to sell so would love to see if i could make a profit.
other idea which i use to do a while back, go to the local scrap yards spend my £10 on car radios which i can decode/fix and sell on,
great thread cant wait to see how it goes0 -
