Sydney accommodation recommendations

Hiya,

I'm going to Sydney early October 2006 and am looking for cheapish accommodation in central or Northern Sydney. I don't want to go so far as to say I want backpacker accommodation, nor an expensive hotel. I'd really like a nice B&B but there's so much coming up on the internet that it's hard to know where to begin!

Anyone stayed in a nice place with good train/ferry links? I know Sydney well but have never had to actually book anywhere before.

  • I would recommend staying in Manly, it is lovely. Has a few nice delis and restaurants and you get a short ferry trip into Sydney. You are right on the beach etc.

I stayed in an apartment and that way had a kitchen to make meals so I didn't have to eat out every day. That way I chose what time I got up etc.

This company is good. They were open on a Saturday for us to collect the keys.

We stayed in the 1 bedroom studio in the Penninsular. Incredibly close to the ferries and everything to do in Manly. I remember it being very reasonable
