Sky subtitles - any Sky engineers out there?

My Sky box keeps losing its subtitles. It will be ok for a few hours, especially if I use the popular channels but if we go onto the sports channel (and take off the subtitles) and then go back to, say Sky 1, the subtitles are lost.
The only way to get them back is to reboot which takes a while as it then has to search for listings so may miss the first 5 mins of programmes.

Sky just say they will send an engineer for £65 which I think is a lot. So anyone have any ideas - do you think it is the box or the dish - is there anything I can do?
