Problem watching avi files on laptop

hi, there seems to be a codec missing on my laptop as cant watch avi films with media player... any idea anyone what codec can i install?

Try the xvid codec.

Or a good alternative player that plays most of the files is VLC.

works a treat for utube ect and no problems ,easy to understand0 -
download gspot install it then open your AVI in it.
top right corner area e.g
Video codec
4cc xvid NAME=XviD
it will tell you the codec it was made with thats the codec you will need as posted above they may be ok or K-Lite pack0 -
Don't even think about using that bloated DivX bundle.
Either of the XviD codecs will do.
