Hotmail problems

I regularly have problems when viewing e mails on my hotmail account. The system intermitently simply freezes with the egg timer just sticking. The only way I can correct this is by switching off my PC & restarting. This is really frustrating. How can I fix this?

Have you seen the problem at any other time or only when using Hotmail?

So closing the web browser doesn't unfreeze it? Or can't you close the web browser?

Do you get the problem at a consistent time in Hotmail? Is it when you do something in particular?

What web browser do you use and which version?

Nothing happens when i try to close or even if I press CTRL ATL DEL. It happens when I click to view an e mail & not any other time. I am on Int Explorer.

Does hotmail have large adverts on the page you are viewing? I did once have a similar weird one like this. It turned out it was a specific advert on a specific web page that I went to frequently that slowed my machine to a crawl such that I couldn't do anything. I think it was a flash based advert for Sky TV with an image of a moving frog. I only got the problem when this specific advert turned up on the page. Once I blocked flash adverts, no more problem.

Might also be worth trying a different web browser and see if you get the same result. Try Firefox for example and see if it does the same thing.
