I looked earlier but couldnt find it either.I actually read quite a few negative reviews for this hotel including it being on the very basic side and bad food like you mention Mandy.
The bad food bit would definetly put me off especially if i was wanting to go all inclusive as a big part of your holiday revolves aroung eating at the hotel.

thanks everyone for yout help. I did wonder about the food rating but compared to the rest of the brochure it didn't fare too badly. Also I have read a number of positive reviews on holiday forums. I think they tend to get low scores as some people expect a far grander food scenario when all inclusive.

We really wanted a hotel that ran a kids club and I know that this is only included via First Choice at this hotel so if we booked direct we wouldn't be able to take advantage of that.

The crux of the situation is that we want a week away in the sun - no more than 2.5hr flight - travel before schools hols (21st July) as prices tend to soar. We want a kids club ideally, near to facilities and if possible all inclusive. If all inclusive then our top end budget would be £1350, we would consider self catering but with an £1100 limit.

I really do appreciate all the help and advice you guys give

Well I suppose if your S/C budget is 1100 and now with eclipse its only 1198 if the food isnt wonderful you can afford to eat out a couple of nights knowing that its not took all your AI budget up.
BTW....not sure if you know but https://www.eclipsedirect.co.uk is part of firstchoice so your not loosing anything

    savapenny,

    again thanks for your advice.

As you say we do intend to eat out a few times in the evening as its not that far from some nice places. With kids its so convenient having ice creams and drinks on hand without paying out directly every time. I suppose even if we use the AI facility for breakfast and lunch snacks and a few eveing drinks we will get our monies worth. Last year we went self catering and must have spent £60-£70 just on brekky and lunch bits - we also had to do the washing up!

I never knew about eclipse so thank you so much for that steer - the hundred quid saved will pay for a couple of meals. And as you say we would still get the kids club.

    Thanks again!!!!!
